My thoughts on this day 10/16/2008

Today was Boss's Day and we went out to Casa Mia, and italian place near work. It was delicious, but i ate too much and am stuffed! Tuesday, our group is moving to a different building so i have been working all wekk to pack up everything and get it ready for the movers. It's quite the ordeal really. Basically, I just really, really, really hate boxes right now. For real.

One thing that stinks about being super busy with work and school, is that I haven't been to dance for almost 2 weeks. I am just tired and have other things that I feel are more important. Of course, I have been going to practice for the dance team girls, but other than that, nothing. Ballet has been really difficult for me to get back into, I don't really enjoy it as much as I used to. I mean, I know how good it is for me...it is an amazing workout and the best thing I can do for my technique which is why I decided to do it in the first place. But the thing is, I don't really need my technique to be all that much better since at this point I am just dancing for pleasure...no performances to mess up in, nobody to impress, just me. I really enjoy the jazz class I'm in, and would love to take a modern or lyrical class but the studio I'm at doesn't offer one that fits with my schedule. For now, I have just decided to go in when I feel like it and not put too much pressure on myself to attend class. I would rather not be a walking zombie every day like I have been lately. In the meantime, I have joined a gym! I know, I know, you are saying "If you don't have time for dance then when do you have time to go to the gym?!" It's a 24-hour gym! Open 24/7/365...a full-time elliptical paradise, all for me! I'm pretty excited for this. I'll post on how that is going at a later date :)

I think you will be a happier Crystal if you push yourself to dance even when you don't feel like it. It's what I've learned about making art. I'm always glad I did it anyway, because it's what I love. If it's your passion, like dance is for you, you keep at it, even when it's hard, and you will be glad you did. Now if I could just take my own high-horse advice!
